２００９年３月２１日のシェイク・カリッド殿下と ラスアルカイマの人々との再会と面談模様
バラック・オバマ大統領就任式典参列を含め米国各地政財界の歴訪を終えた、ラス・アル・カイマ（RAK）の皇太子兼統治代行シェイク・カリッド・ビン・サクル・アル・カシミ殿下は、この度ご息女の結婚式に参列するためにアラブ首長国連邦に久々の帰国をされ、恒例のカルバ宮殿での人民との集会も執り行うことが出来ました。
2003年に殿下がラスアルカイマを離れて以来も、RAKの人々が殿下に拝謁出来るようにすることは殿下の常々からの実践であり、そしてRAKの人々も殿下の指導を求めて、或いは殿下への援助及びサポートのために一貫して参加してきたのです。家から長い道のりを伴うにもかかわらず、RAKからカルバまで何百人もの市民が恒例の集会に一貫して参加したことこそが、殿下と市民との強く深い関係を示すものでしょう。殿下は、この度のカルバでの集会でも、人々から熱狂的な歓迎を受けました。
RAKの皇太子兼統治代行として、殿下は常に人々に接するよう努めてきましたが、人々もまたUああ部首長国連邦（UAE）国内で再び殿下を拝謁することが出来て歓喜極まっていたのが明らかです。そこでは、多くの個人的なメッセージが各々に伝えられ、人々は殿下の火急なRAKへの復帰と皇太子兼統治代行としての復職を心より望んでいることを表明し、場内は大きな期待と喜びに沸きました。それに対し、殿下も、近いうちに必ずラスアルカイマに戻ることを人々に確約されました。 RAKが抱える多くの問題は、RAKの人々に影響を及ぼすことであり、殿下は皇太子兼統治代行として復帰する際の演説する準備をしているそうですが、中でも特に重要なのが、トンブ諸島に対するラスアルカイマ人民の主権的権利であるとのことで、殿下は、トンブ諸島のRAKへの返還とイランの占領撤退に向け断固として戦うことを人々に約束しました。
殿下曰く、“人々と協議しなければならない多くの個人的な問題もあるが、またアラブ湾岸全体でも周知な多くの深刻な問題がある。私は、１９７１年以降、我々は連邦政府から我諸島の返還を迫るという保証を我等が受け取るまで連邦への加盟を2か月以上遅らせてでも、我諸島の返還のために戦ってきたし、これからも私は我人民のためのその争いを続ける。“
殿下は、現状連邦政府がイランとの交渉を遂行しているだけでなく、イギリス、イタリア、及びEU加盟諸国などからも追認サポートが現れていることや、湾岸協力会議がこの問題についてイランに反対する強い地域的サポートの表明をしているなど、この問題に関する情勢が良い方向で発展していることに喜んでいます。
殿下は更に、復帰に際しての計画も作成中であり、最初の作業が人々を代表する委員会を組織し行政及び立法審議会の設置であると人々に説明されたところ、この発表は人々の熱狂的な拍手と歓喜で迎え入れられました。
殿下は、この先の多くの祝賀の機会と、これらをRAKの人々と共有することを楽しみにしていることを告げたうえで、締め括りに殿下は人々の忠誠心と成功への祈念を受けて心から感謝の意を表明しました。

His Highness Sheikh Khalid Meets His People
Meeting with the People of Ras Al Khaimah 21st March 2009
Following his various travels to meet political and economic leaders in the United States, including his attendance at the Inauguration of President Barack Obama, His Highness Sheikh Khalid bin Saqr Al Qasimi, Crown Prince and Deputy Ruler, returned to the United Arab Emirates this week to attend the wedding of his daughter.
His Highness held his normal Majlis today at his Palace in Kalba. It has always been the practice of His Highness to be available to the People of Ras Al Khaimah, and His People have consistently attended on him for guidance, assistance and support since his departure from Ras Al Khaimah in 2003. It has been a mark of his relationship with His People that hundreds of citizens from Ras Al Khaimah have consistently attended his daily Majlis, even though this has entailed long travel from their homes. His Highness was overwhelmed by the support expressed to him today at his Majlis in Kalba.
As Crown Prince and Deputy Ruler, His Highness has always striven to be available to His People, and it is clear that His People were delighted to see him again in their midst in the United Arab Emirates. Many private messages were given to His People, and great joy was expressed at the return of His Highness. His People made it clear they are waiting for his imminent return to Ras Al Khaimah to resume his role as their Crown Prince and Deputy Ruler. His Highness assured them that he will soon be back in Ras Al Khaimah.
Many issues affect the People of Ras Al Khaimah, and His Highness is preparing to address them when he returns to Ras Al Khaimah as Crown Prince and Deputy Ruler. Of particular importance are the Sovereign rights of the People of Ras al Khaimah to the Tunbs Islands. His Highness assured His People that he would never give up the fight for the return of the Tunbs Islands to Ras al Khaimah, and the departure of occupying forces from Iran.
Said His Highness “I had many private issues to discuss with my people but also many issues which are well known in the Arabian Gulf. I have fought for the return of our Islands since 1971, even delaying our entry into the United Arab Emirates for over two months, until we received assurances from the Federal Government that it would press for the return of our Islands to our People. I continue that struggle for My People”
His Highness was also pleased to note the developing momentum on this issue. Not only is the Federal Government pursuing negotiations, but additional support is emerging from other Countries like the United Kingdom, Italy and various member states of the European Union. The Gulf Co-operation Council has also spoken out strongly on this issue, demonstrating strong regional support against Iran.
His Highness is developing his plans for his return and told His People that one of his first acts will be to form a Committee representing His People, and to create an Executive and Legislative Council. This announcement was greeted by wild applause and great joy.
His Highness is looking forward to the many celebrations in the days ahead, and to sharing these events with His People. His Highness expressed His thanks to His People and accepted their expressions of loyalty and best wishes for the days ahead.
